ABOUT US

WHAT WE DO

HOW IT ALL STARTED

180 Degrees Trust is a charitable Trust Established in 2007 by Jeremy Nurse and colleagues and is managed by a Board of Trustees who are passionate about improving outcomes for the youth of Canterbury.

OUR MISSION

To positively impact the lives of young people facing educational challenges, empower them to make wise decisions, foster pro-social behaviour, encourage personal growth, and inspire motivation. Through the establishment of meaningful connections with these individuals and leveraging the transformative power of the high country, we catalyse a remarkable transformation, nurturing a positive trajectory in their lives.

HOW WE ACHIEVE THIS

Our services utilise the natural environment to challenge at risk youth. We run four individualized learning programmes for young people between 13 and 18 years old  which provide weekly 1 on 1 mentoring and many adventures into the outdoors throughout the year.

OUR OBJECTIVES

To offer committed, professional services, which challenge males and females emotionally, academically, and physically

Empower youth to make better decisions

To facilitate personal development through education, training and employment opportunities for youths of appropriate age and disposition

Working with families of participants to improve the quality of their relationships

To empower youth to learn to take responsibility for their actions

To equip youth to obtain a greater sense of self-awareness, and self-confidence
